Toys Center is a well known brand, as part of the Preziosi Group, Italy’s leading chain of multibrand toys shops.
SIS has developed their online shopping portal, one of the most visited toys' e-commerce in Italy. The third edition of the website is currently online: during last years, SIS has updated the graphics and as well as enriched the website new tools aimed to enable a smoother navigation, such as rating for single products, personal “wish lists” and the promotions section.
Since the beginning, our team worked closely with several departments of Toys Center, including the marketing, logistic, commercial and after sales units.
Our objective was to gather all feature requests from within Toys Center and find a synergy among all the new tools we would then integrate in the website. It was important to understand the different aspects and the interactions that characterize the sale process. Today, all departments can work using the same platform, designed to fit each unit's needs.
After the first definition of the site structure, our programmers spent four months developing the platform. They also worked jointly with the graphics team within Toy Center, showing flexibility and cooperation. The result is an e-commerce visited by more than a million times per year.
The reliability of the product has been put to try particularly in two occasions: Christmas holidays and the beginning of the school, these being the most demanding periods in the year in which there are tens of thousands of accesses every day. The platform worked successfully in both occasions.
